Shower Waterproofing

Shower Waterproofing
Shower waterproofing is probably the single most important step to your shower installation. If not done properly, you are just asking for major problems with mold and mildew down the road. So how can you make sure that your shower assembly will be 100% waterproof? Just leave that up to us. At Tilesecurity.com, we offer several methods of shower waterproofing. Our customers have been using these methods and products for years now, and they keep getting the same results, a completely waterproof shower.
The most popular method of shower waterproofing is using a shower waterproofing membrane. We offer Blanke Aqua Shield, which can be applied directly to your cement board or drywall with modified thin set mortar. The best part about Aqua Shield is that you can tile directly to it.
If you plan on building your own mortar bed, you'll want to check out the PVC Pan Liner. PVC Pan Liner is installed under your mortar bed to protect your subfloor from soaking in any moisture. In addition, the PVC Liner will drain moisture in the mortar bed to your weep holes in your drain in a double mortar bed installation.
Roll on waterproofing membranes like Ardex 8+9 can be applied over approved substrates simply with a roller, or brush. This is a simple yet effective way to waterproof any tile shower.
Regardless of what you method you go with, be sure to waterproof your shower right the first time around. If you are thinking of tiling right over cement board...don't. Cement board is water-resistant, not waterproof. You need your shower to be waterproof. If you have questions about our products, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'd be happy to assist you with your shower waterproofing needs.
